A playful relationship gifting brand that celebrates the funny, awkward, and honest moments couples experience every day — with two variations: one for surviving the fight, one for surviving the breakup.
We Survived Another Argument
The reconciliation kit — for couples who fought, made up, and want to laugh about it after.
Breakup Kit
Because "we need to talk" already happened. Same brand, same voice, aimed at the other ending — self-care with a sense of humour instead of reconciliation.
The Challenge
While shopping for my boyfriend's birthday, I went looking for funny relationship cards that felt modern and relatable — and came up empty. Most of what I found was either too romantic or too generic. I wanted something that reflected the funny and awkward moments real couples actually experience, for an audience of couples and young adults aged 18–35, delivered through humour, conversation, and thoughtful design.
The Approach
Research into Hallmark, Etsy, Lovebox, and Uncommon Goods showed a market full of traditional romance and sentimental keepsakes — but nothing built around everyday relationship humour. I designed around Binny, a 29-year-old in a long-term relationship who loves thoughtful gifts, relationship humour, and saving funny conversations with her partner. The logo grew out of an undelivered text message: the speech bubble represents communication, while the "Not Delivered" label reflects relatable relationship moments, set in an SF-style typeface that feels instantly connected to modern texting culture. Energetic orange paired with warm pink kept the palette playful and emotionally expressive rather than traditionally romantic.
The Outcome
The brand plays out in two directions. We Survived Another Argument is the reconciliation side — a gift bag and box, conversation cards designed to be shared after a fight, a tongue-in-cheek Certificate of Relationship Insurance, and an Emotional Support Snack with nutrition facts rewritten as a fake apology. Breakup Kit takes the same voice somewhere else entirely — a tissue box, a punching bag, a "You Deserve Better" mirror, a Self-Love Spritz, a chocolate bar, and a "Do Not Text Them" survival guide, all for when the answer isn't getting back together. Every touchpoint across both kits carries the same wordmark, colour palette, and "Not Delivered" joke, so they read as one brand even while going in opposite directions.
